It doesn't have to be a perfect round profile. A couple of small tack welds at 1/3 and 2/3 length should hold it together nicely.
You could use the fact that the ends of the tube would have a little springback in them to help locate the tube into holes (as bzm have done on the inlet end of this silencer). You squeeze the tube and close the diameter up a little - locate the tube in the hole and when you release the springback pressure holds it in place whilst you pack the chamber and bolt it back together.
I was looking for a silencer for my lads ZPF and took a look at the BZM DB Killer, But the look of it put me off. So I bought a SEM Sonic.
It turns out it's quite a bit longer than the original.
The exit pipe from the expansion chamber (stinger I think it's called) is about 40mm long. Does anyone know what affect it will have if I trim off 20mm of it???
I don't think they drill it, I think it is perferated sheet metal that is rolled and welded. You can buy it at RS components http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/s...94954628&Nty=1Originally Posted by Chute
