Mountain Bike Discs on a Minimoto

There's a few of you kicking about that I know of that are running 160mm mtb discs on the front of your bikes. Obviously std mtb hole spacing is different to std minimoto spacing so how did you get round it? Post pictures if possible.

I'm halfway through trying to make a completely new front hub (plenty of time left to fail miserably though!) and am interested to see what other solutions people have come up with.

What does the front of the RT2008 look like as that apparently runs mtb discs.

I made one of those Jenky, could get the disc to clear the fork leg, and have the wheel in the middle, and leave enough meat for a decent amount of threads hold the disc on.

get a mmr08/rt2 front end there wider so you get more room for the disc.

the zpf has a wider frontend so it made it really easy to fit the spacer and the disc, still with plenty of room for the caliper to stay away from the tyre.

mmr will make there own hubs, wonder how much they are?

probably not, I just like making stuff.

I use a hope caliper and it annots me that the disc is twice as deep as you need, I reckon braking would improve using the disc the caliper was actually designed for so I'm giving it a go.

yeah, the bms disc carrier is dished slightly to clear the lower fork leg, very clever how it all fits but a right pain in the **** trying to get anything else to fit properly.

The bottom of my fork leg is a right mess, one of the disc bolts worked its way out and ate it.

when the bolt ate the leg it was really really hungry! I can live with it, its on the inside and doesnt really show too bad. I'll put a photo up after the hubs either finished or changed status to ;scrap' lol

Be careful with that fork leg, chute ....... don't want it to fail on you while you're riding, that could be ugly. Be safe, and get a new one.
