Dual stage reeds

Hi Everyone,

I managed to get hold of a Holme Tech 2 stage reeds kit really cheap and I was wondering if anyone had fitting instructions for them. I have a cheap CAG I bought off ebay item number 250369290710 and i want to fit them to that. Do I need a new reed block or can i use the standard one on the bike.

i think im understanding there's 3 sections to ones your using. a larger reed petel at the back, 2 v shaped ones at the front and then a little strip at the top with 2 screw holes in it. then there would be the metal restricting arms that stop the reed petals opening too far. well thats how i think they go. its the same layout for the water cooled reed valve except for the restrictor arms as they dont have any!

You should be able to use the standard Cag reed block. If you really want to be slick, shave down the underside of the reed stop (the curved piece that looks like a couple of fingers) to allow the reeds to open just a little bit further .... Some people say you can run without the reed stops, but I prefer having them on as a "just in case" thing to prevent the reeds from bending too far and breaking.

My reed kit arrived but there is only one reed and the thinner piece with two holes that holds it together in the kit. Shouldnt a 2 stage reed kit have two reeds?
