    Whacky's comeback

High guys it's been a long lay off (mid December) but I’m now fighting fit, well sort of anyway.

For those of you who don't know I run a mini moto project with a group of young offenders and while I have been off the mini moto scene we have been customising my Blata.

We took inspiration from the Army's Artic Camo and made are own take on it and as you can see it is pretty unique and that was the idea.

the Kids and I are will proud of the outcome but I accept it will not be to everyone’s taste.

It was stripped completely, hand sanded, primed, hand painted (which took hours and hours), top coated and reassembled all by the kids with only minimal input from me.

The kids were aged between 12 and 16 and were a mix of boys and girls.

I will take some more pictures in the daylight tomorrow and post them up this one does not do it full justice

the bike looks good , and i admire what you do with the kids.
but it really annoys me that things like this only happen for
"YOUNG OFFENDERS" if the kids are good well behaved kids there parents have to pay lots of money to get involved in minimotos ..
it sends wrong signals to the good uns
sorry if this offends or upsets anyone , but it makes me angry that bad is rewarded more than good

Yes it was the off in Lincoln that has kept me out for a while amongst other things, the wife has been unwell too. The break has been good though and I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike. Birmingham is just to far for a weekday I think my next track day will be at Stretton.

My clutch is not fully run in and it was quite a big off so a few slow laps wont do me any harm either. I fully intend on easing myself in gently before I start wupping all over Jeffy again.

    I take your point Yorkie but just to clarify;

I go into a Young Offenders Institute to do the sessions and have faced fierce opposition from many corners who think it is irresponsible to teach offenders how to fix and paint mini motos. I take their point but I also really push the safety aspect of mini motoing, helmets, gloves ect, ect. We also talk about where you can ride legally and what would happen to the moto if the Fuzz catch you not riding it legally. I show them pictures of me riding and show them some of the videos too.

They love it as a lot of the kids struggle to read and write but give them some tools and a Carburettor and they are well away. I teach them about the engine and how it works as well as the mechanics of how the bike rides.

The issue of as you put it the well-behaved ones not getting a go is a valid point but my stock answer is always this.

What’s stopping you buying a CAG and taking it down to your local youth club and spending an hour a week with your local kids stripping it and painting it?

and with an attitude like that it's a good job we are all not like you!

Where does it say they ever got to ride them? Oh that’s right it doesn't - because they don't.

When I talked about the criticism I face earlier in my post from people this is a pretty good example of it.

Some people rather than asking questions before they form an opinion just assume the worse and decide to criticise. Don't get me wrong everybody is entitled to their opinion but why not have the maximum information before forming your opinion.

The paint on the next one will be even crazier I will post some picture of that when it’s done
